  • Anders Lysén new member of the Foundation Governing Board


    The government has appointed Anders Lysén as a new member of the Foundation Governing Board for Jönköping University (JU). Anders is appointed to be a member of the Board from 1 May 2021 to 30 April 2022.
  • Letter of intent signed between Jönköping University and the municipality of Jönköping


    Jönköping municipality and Jönköping University (JU) have signed a new declaration of intent with the aim of renewing and further developing current cooperation. The organisations work together to identify joint initiatives and priorities, including strategic competence supply and student housing.
  • New challenges for JU Solar Team – in South Africa


    JU Solar Team The Corona pandemic put an end to this autumn's Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC) in Australia. Jönköping University Solar Team then switched continent and competition to the Sasol Solar Challenge in South Africa in autumn 2022.
  • Jönköping University receives increased funding for new summer courses


    On 15 April, the Government presented the Spring Amendment Budget for 2021, which contains proposals for amendments relating to central government expenditure for the financial year 2021. Jönköping University is proposed strengthened research grants and, just like last year, an increase in funding for education of SEK 2.6 million for summer courses.
  • Double prizes were awarded to researchers


    Annika Engström and Judit Svidró. Annika Engström and Judit Svidró, researchers at the School of Engineering (JTH) at Jönköping University (JU), won the SPARK Award for their research projects Innovate respective New Generation of Foundry Sands (NGFS) during the SPARK conference on 22 April.
  • Positive response from The Swedish Higher Education Authority


    In February last year, The Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ) presented the results from the national review of the subject teacher programmes (ämneslärarprogram). Jönköping University (JU) received the assessment "questioned quality" in two subcategories to assessment areas for the subject Swedish. After analysis and an account of the measures taken, JU has now received the overall assessment “high quality”.
  • Students win with best idea for social entrepreneurship


    Between 12-14 April, 15 teams of students from Jönköping University (JU) took part in the JIBS Entrepreneurship Challenge 2021, a 24-hour race organised by Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) where the students must solve a real-life business case. This year, IKEA provided the challenge – to come up with ideas on how IKEA can strengthen their work with developing social entrepreneurship.
  • Jönköping University to sign the Magna Charta Universitatum


    The Magna Charta Universitatum (MCU) is an international declaration of the role that universities have in society. The document establishes the basic values of higher education institutions, including autonomy, independence, dissemination of knowledge, and the important relationship between education and research.
  • JIBS Entrepreneurship Challenge livestream


    On the 12 april, JU students will be solving a real-life case presented to them by IKEA in the online 24-hour innovation race JIBS Entrepreneurship Challenge. The winners will be announced in a special livestream on the 14 April.

Last week, Joakim Netz, Assistant Professor Work Organisation at the School of Engineering (JTH), Jönköping University (JU) and Mattias Axelson, researcher at Stockholm School of Economics, had a final presentation of their research project on companies' actions and driving forces during the Corona pandemic.
