JIBS Assistant Professor rewarded with CEEMAN Champion Award
The JIBS Assistant Professor Marcela Ramirez-Pasillas is the first International (Mexican) researcher from the first Swedish university ever to be rewarded with the CEEMAN Champion Award, in the category Responsible Management Education.
Each year, starting in 2010, the international management development association CEEMAN recognizes outstanding achievements of individuals associated with CEEMAN. The prizes are divided into four categories, and the award given to Marcela Ramirez-Pasillas falls under the category Responsible Management Education.
Marcela has been rewarded for her great work within the PRME project at Jönköping International Business School. The aim of PRME is to help business schools to educate students who can generate sustainable value for businesses and their societies. JIBS has therefore chosen to raise awareness of the shared responsibility to be ethical and sustainable global citizens.
“I think I got this award because I have learned to think differently and to create resources and opportunities that engage the students. We need to get the students interested in this subject in order to get JIBS more sustainable and it seems like a lot of them are really motivated already”, says Marcela Ramirez-Pasillas.
This is the first time ever a Swedish researcher is awarded with the CEEMAN Champion Award and Marcela was shocked when she got the news:
“I was happy and thrilled. It was really unexpected, I never thought I would get this prize.”
