Professor Mats Jackson appointed Vice President of Jönköping University
Professor Mats Jackson, dean of research at the School of Engineering and programme manager of SPARK has been appointed vice president of Jönköping University (JU) from 1st April 2019.
Mats Jackson is Professor of Innovative Production and has been employed by the School of Engineering since January 1, 2017 to develop and run Jönköping University's research and education environment SPARK. Mats has had a distinguised academic career with previous experience in the business sector within various leadership roles.
On February 21, the foundation board, which is JU's highest decision-making body, decided to appoint Mats Jackson as vice president from April 1.
"It feels great that we found this expertise at Jönköping University and that the management is now complete," says Monica Dahlbom, Chairman of the Foundation Board.
"I am very happy that Mats Jackson will be the vice president of Jönköping University. His broad and profound knowledge from both academia and industry, his experience of quality assurance work and his solid interest in collaboration are some of the qualities that make Mats a great asset for JU's management,” says Agneta Marell, President of JU.
Mats will divide his time, working 50% in the role of vice president and continue to work 50% with the task of running the JU-wide KK environment, SPARK.
