A historical moment for Ethiopia and for JIBS
Exactly one week ago, the two first Doctoral degree dissertations in Economics have been defended in Ethiopia, by PhD students at Addis Ababa University.
Since 2011, JIBS has been collaborating with Addis Ababa University in the field of doctoral education, in “Into Africa” project supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
Exactly one week ago, the two first Doctoral degree dissertations in Economics have been defended in Ethiopia, by PhD students at Addis Ababa University:
Mr. Atlaw Alemu Tarekegn defended his dissertation titled “Industrialization of Economies with Low Manufacturing Base” – main supervisor Börje Johansson (JIBS), co-supervisor Kristofer Månsson (JIBS).
Mr. Hailu Elias Koche defended his dissertation titles “Welfare Implications of Credit Constraints and Climate Change Adaptation Strategies in Ethiopian Farm Households” – main supervisor, Pär Sjölander (JIBS), co-supervisor Kristofer Månsson (JIBS).
